Posto Emissor do Funchal, Funchal, Madeira. This station seems to be a much easier catch during the summer than in the winter. I had been hunting it for over 20 years, but until now only during the winter, and now I found it to be a fairly common catch in August. During the night the station relays Rádio Renascença. Interference by stations in the UK and Romania. No sign of the only remaining RDP station in Madeira on 1332 kHz.

+ 6WA ABC Local Radio, Wagin WA. The only Aussie on the dial on August 26.
684 11.9. 2005 + 6BS ABC Local Radio, South West, Busselton WA, surprisingly powerful at times. Regional program "The Dawn Patrol" was aired after the national news. I called the station to ask for an email, and the person in the other end happened to be the regular host of the show, although not on the air on this particular morning. Later he interviewed me on the air.

5RN ABC Adelaide SA, the first to surface from South Australia.
783 31.8. 1800 Wellington Access Radio, Wellington. A huge surprise, already in August, and with a 70-degree antenna! Hearing a Kiwi station this early in the season is totally unheard of. I can only imagine what would have been possible had I been recording the 30-degree antenna at the time. Direct path along the edge of the dark half of the globe at this particular time.
828 11.9. 1902 6GN ABC Local Radio, Geraldton WA, also // 684, but popped up only during the ABC News. This was the only WA station coming stronger on the 70-degree antenna, while all others were stronger on the 100-degree wire. Heard also on August 26 with the ABC interval melody.
891 13.9. 1830 5AN ABC Adelaide SA. I have heard this one a few times before, but never this strong.
1152 11.9. 1929 6PNN ABC News Radio, Busselton WA, occasionally with a really nice signal! The station was first heard already on August 18 and 23, and roughly every other day afterwards, so the Aussie season begins quite early. Programming includes relays of BBC, but plenty of ABC programming as well.
1269 11.9. 1859 + 6RN ABC Radio National, Busselton WA (ex-1224, where this station has already been heard in Finland)
1296 11.9. 1859 + 6RN ABC Radio National, Wagin WA // 1269, but weaker here
