New stations in Argentina on 1340 and 1400 kHz

Radio Tradicional Conurbano Norte is a new Argentinian radio station on 1340 kHz AM. The station is located in Florida, Partido de Vicente López, Provincia de Buenos Aires. Currently the stations is testing with station identifications and music. The unlicensed station can be contacted by email. It was first reported by DXer Marcelo Cornachioni on Condig mailing list on September 23.
      Another new station on the same frequency is Frecuencia Mediterranea, broadcasting from Rosario del Tala, Provincia de Entre Ríos. The station has been operating on FM 102.5 MHz, which is now being relayed also on the AM band. This unlicensed station, headed by Hugo Rubén Pitura, can be reached by writing to Dr. Rozados 533, (E3174BEK) Rosario del Tala, Entre Ríos. The phone numbers are (03445) 42-3009 and 42-2144, and the station also has email. Also this station was first reported by Cornachioni.
      Slightly higher on the AM band, Radio Malvinas Argentinas is a new station operating on 1400 kHz. Despite its name, the station is not operating anywhere near Islas Malvinas (The Falkland Islands), but in the city of Rosario, as reported by Cornachioni. Telephone numbers (0341) 437-3431 and 437-5360 have been announced. This unlicensed station is headed by Sr. Gustavo Martín Izquierdo.

New Catholic station begins broadcasts in Peru on 1180 AM

NSE Radio is a Catholic station testing currently a new transmitter in the Peruvian capital Lima on 1180 kHz AM. NSE stands for Nuestra Señora del Encuentro con Dios, and stations with the same name already exist elsewhere in Peru and several other Latin American countries. NSE Radio was first logged by Pedro F. Arrunátegui in Lima on September 15, and reported on El Chasqui DX. NSE Radio can be reached by email. Test broadcasts are being conducted at a power of 1 kW, but eventually transmitter power will be raised to 10 kW, says Esteban Vélez at the station in response to Arrunátegui's email.

Radio Medjugorje Italia heard widely on 1476 kHz AM

Radio Medjugorje Italia is a new Italian station broadcasting on 1476 kHz with 1 kW of power. It was first heard testing with a programming loop in Italy on October 5, and has already been logged as far as in Scandinavia. Radio Medjugorje Italia transmits from the province of Padova, and can be reached by email. The station was first reported by Roberto Scaglione on bclnews.it website.

Nepali Gurkha community in the UK gets a station on 1179 AM

Radio BGWS, the new community station for the Gurkha Nepali community in the Farnborough and Aldershot area in the United Kingdom, has been testing on 1179 kHz AM. The licence was originally awarded by Ofcom in September 2009. The transmitter power is unknown, but suspected to be under 50 watts. Radio BGWS is run by the British Gurkha Welfare Society. The postal address is: 119 Wren Way, Farnborough, GU14 8TA, the United Kingdom, and the station can be contacted also by email. Radio BGWS was reported by Dave Kenny on BDXC mailing list on September 25.
