Bolivian Radio Universitaria launched on shortwave

University logoRadio Universitaria from Cobija, Bolivia, has begun broadcasting on the frequency of 4732 kHz shortwave. Officially the frequency is meant to be 4730 kHz (in the 60 meter band). Radio Universitaria is operated by the Universidad Amazónica de Pando, which also has a television station. The station announces the following schedule on shortwave: at 1000-1300 and 2200-0200 UTC. Until the end of June the station has relayed FM 97.9 MHz with a format of Latin American pop music, but separate programming on shortwave will begin on July 1. Radio Universitaria was first reported heard by Alfredo Locatelli in Uruguay on June 21. The station can be reached by mail at Radio y Televisión Universitaria, Campus Universitario, Av. Brazilian Globo network launches a new station on 1460 AM

Globo logoA new station from the Globo network has begun operating on 1460 kHz AM, located in the town of Costa Rica in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. A staff member has told that the station is the first digital AM station in Mato Grosso do Sul. According to DXer Marcelo Xavier Vieira, who reported hearing the station on Radioescutas mailing list on June 11, the address of the station is Av. José Ferreira da Costa, 771, Costa Rica-MS 79550-000, Brazil.
