Buenas Nuevas from Argentina logged on 1610 kHz
Radio Buenas Nuevas is broadcasting
from Laboulaye in Argentina on 1610 kHz mediumwave.
Although the station began broadcasting already
in August 2001, it hasn't been reported by DXers
before now, captured by a group of Argentinian DXers
on October 27. The station broadcasts Christian
programming and classical music 24 hours a day.
The transmitter power is 500 watts, says Pedro Saavedra
of Radio Buenas Nuevas in an email to DXing.info.
According to Nicolás Eramo, who first informed
about the station, the studio and transmitter are
located at Cosquin 40, Laboulaye, Provincia de Córdoba,
Argentina, and the station can be contacted also
Radio Buenas Nuevas has nothing to do with a station
by the same name in Guatemala, although both are

from Chicago begins transmissions on 1690 kHz
WRLL, licensed in Berwyn,
Illinois, is the latest U.S. X-band station on the
air. The station is broadcasting from a Chicago
suburb and uses the slogan Real Oldies 1690,
playing the music of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, WRLL was supposed
to begin broadcasting on October 6, but the station
was first confirmed on the air on October 7 by several
DXers in Illinois and Wisconsin, and finally heard
with live programming on October 8. Several email
addresses are given as contact information on the
WRLL is owned by Clear Channel Communications.
