Postby Teemu Juurinen on Sun Dec 01, 2002 1609 UTC

Heard R Kinnekulle from Sweden today on 1584 kHz at 08:13 UTC, when I checked the frequency. Barely audible signal fading away at times, but at 08:30 UTC id mentioning also MW frequency. No other stations on frequency.

What is QSL-adress??

Postby Dick Van Der Knaap on Sun Dec 01, 2002 2125 UTC

Hello all,

Heard Radio Kinnekulle here today as well, on a 400m beverage, and
completly burried under a lot of other stations.
It looks like whole Europe uses this frequency...........
Distance for me is 826km!

Wonder if anyone has a QSL-adress from them.

Dick, for an address just check http://macmathan.net/radio.kinnekulle/

My friend Hartmut Wolff heard Kinnekulle yesterday at around 0830 UTC with fair reception on his K9AY-farm. At the same time I was trying in vain to get the frequency clear with my loop antenna.

In the evening I could see Kinnekulles carrier with Spectrum Lab, drifting wildly around like a drunken sailor. But no audio. :-(

This morning I made an unattended recording, but again nothing on the minidisc. And not even the carrier visible in the afternoon today.

R Kinnekulle drifting?

Postby Gert Nilsson on Tue Dec 03, 2002 0351 UTC

Martin!
Are you sure this drifting carrier was Radio Kinnekulle? I listened to this station last Sunday from 08.00 to 1600 UTC. They had a long term drift from 1584,02 to 1584,005 which is typical for this type of old tube transmitters. There are a lot of other stations drifting around here, one of them being a station in Greece.

Hi Gert,

Yes, sure it was Kinnekulle drifting. Hartmut made shots before and after Kinnekulle's start, and the drifting carrier was absent las Thursday. Furthermore he found out, that the drifting station came from a northern direction. And he could see the carriers at 1200 hrs UTC: surely not Greece.

Just an hour ago I checked the frequency again, I could see the Kinnekulle-transmitter with the oscillating carrier, but couldn't hear them.

I'm going to send you the .jpg-files.

Greetings,
Martin
